People's Power Rep. Hong Jun-pyo said today (8th) that he would not participate in the party's election campaign to be formed in the future.

At the dismantling ceremony held today at the Yeouido camp office, Rep. Hong mentioned GNP candidate Lee Hoi-chang, who had a controversy over his son's military service in the 2002 presidential election. said this.

Rep. Hong emphasized that he will play his role as a 'plain party member', saying, "I clearly said it at the national convention. I do not participate in the corrupt presidential election.

Regarding this election, Rep. Hong said, "It is difficult to win the presidential election with less than one hundredth of a party sentiment.

He compared the suspicion of slush funds of 67 billion won by Kim Dae-jung (DJ), a candidate for the National Assembly at the time, raised during the 1997 presidential election as an example.

Rep. Hong said, "The people who gave political funds in the DJ slush fund case were people who gave political funds because they liked DJs rather than the victims," he said.

"Probably one of the two people will have to go to jail," he said.Even after the presidential election, I worry that those who lose will win.”

Regarding the possibility of meeting with presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, he drew a line, saying, "There is nothing that will change if we meet" and "(I) am not usually a stubborn person."

Regarding the 20th and 30th generation defecting from the

party,

he said, "It's not my business," but he said, "I hang out with young people, hire a few people, take pictures with them, and do a show.

I was enthusiastic and supported, but I'm sorry for failing in the primary, and there's no way I can stop feeling sorry."

About 50 young people in their 20s and 30s, who were the main supporters of Rep. Hong, filled the Yeouido camp office today.

The young men with 'AGAIN jp I love you' placards continued to the outside of the building to see off Representative Hong.

Hong's supporter chairman and wife Lee Soon-sam, as well as former Comptroller Choi Jae-hyeong and former Incheon Mayor Ahn Sang-soo, who were competitors but declared their support after being eliminated from the primary, also attended.

Supporters still chanted 'Standard Hong' (the president unconditionally is Hong Jun-pyo).

Rep. Hong said, "I think it is right for the loser to enter quietly," and after a brief remark, he greeted supporters and staff and parted.

Rep. Hong also said on social media earlier, "It's really unfortunate that the presidential election is going to be a non-confrontational election between suspects of corruption."

It is interpreted as a remark aimed at both Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung and Party primary contender Yoon Seok-yeol.

Rep. Hong said, "If one of the two loses, one of them will have to go to jail," he said.
