Etihad Rail has completed 50% of the first sea railway bridge in the country

Etihad Rail has announced the completion of 50% of the construction of the first sea railway bridge in the country, which comes as part of the works of Package B in the second phase of the "Etihad Rail" project, and extends over one kilometer, linking Khalifa Port to the national railway network.

The bridge will play an important role in facilitating and enhancing the movement of goods in the region, reducing the cost of freight and trade, and contributing to the establishment of an Emirati national railway network, linking the most important ports to manufacturing and production points and population centers in the country, in addition to reducing carbon emissions and preserving the environment, through Reduce truck traffic on major roads.

About 18,300 cubic meters of reinforced concrete and 4117 tons of steel were used in the construction operations of the bridge, which comes parallel to a land bridge that extends the same length, and connects the mainland of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi with the sea container terminal.

The construction of the first sea bridge in the network is being carried out in line with the best international environmental standards, as Etihad Rail works to maintain the flow of water currents, by ensuring that the extensions and rubble of the new sea bridge are in line with the existing bridge, which is parallel in the direction. Which ensures the flow of water currents, which is an important factor in preserving the coral reefs surrounding the bridge.
