As it continues to be exposed to the fourth wave of the Corona virus, the Egyptian health file is witnessing a number of developments related to the virus, most notably the continued rise in death numbers caused by the virus, despite the decrease in the number of infections at a slight rate for the second day in a row.

In the face of the pandemic, Egypt is preparing to start vaccinating high school students, and also stressed the prevention of entry of employees in government agencies and university students without vaccination.

And yesterday, Sunday, the Egyptian Ministry of Health recorded 903 new infections with the Corona virus and 65 deaths, compared to 909 injuries and 62 deaths the previous day.

And the official spokesman for the ministry, Khaled Mujahid, announced that 711 cases of Corona patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total of those recovered to 283,225 cases as of Sunday evening, according to the ministry’s statement that it published on its official page on the social networking site “Facebook”.

Mujahid stated that the total number of infections in Egypt with the Corona virus reached 337,485 people, and the total deaths rose to 19,076 cases.

The heart of the fourth wave

For his part, the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, said that Egypt is still in an upward wave of the Corona virus.

Taj El-Din explained, during a telephone interview with Al-Hadath Al-Youm channel yesterday, Sunday, that Egypt is still witnessing a clear increase in the number of Corona injuries, deaths, and cases that require hospitalization.

He stressed that the country is still at the heart of the fourth wave, but vaccinations helped reduce the severity of that wave, as well as the great ability to deal with infected cases, as he said.

In turn, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stressed the need to adhere to the decisions of the Supreme Committee for the Management of the Corona Virus Crisis, regarding not allowing any employee who did not receive the vaccine to enter his workplace after November 15, and not allowing university students who did not receive the vaccine to enter Universities at the same time.

In his meeting yesterday, Sunday, with Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar - the Acting Minister of Health - the Egyptian Prime Minister stressed the importance of continuing the plan to expand the vaccination system for all segments of society, according to the statement published on the official page of the Council on Facebook.

Appeal to the Minister of Education

In a related context, the Egyptian Minister of Education, Tarek Shawky, announced the start of vaccinating high school students against the Corona virus with the “Pfizer-Biontech” vaccine for the age group from 15 to 18 years.

And through his official Facebook page, Shawki called on students to register on the Ministry of Health website to get the vaccine, explaining that the ministry will set an appointment for each of them.
