A timber truck must have driven into the wire fence at 19:00 on Monday and then dropped logs over both lanes on the E16 between Gävle and Sandviken.
According to the Swedish Transport Administration, the disturbances are expected to last until 02, the night before Tuesday.
Road users are asked to choose another road between the western and eastern traffic area in Sandviken.
No person should have been injured.
