The mask will be compulsory again from Monday, November 8 in primary schools in 40 departments due to the resurgence of the coronavirus epidemic, government spokesman Gabriel Attal announced in midweek.

From next week, from the start of the school year (end of the All Saints holidays, Editor's note), in the departments where the incidence rate has unfortunately stabilized above 50 per

100,000 inhabitants (... ) the mask will again be made compulsory for children in the schools concerned,

”explained Mr. Attal after the Council of Ministers.

This concerns departments where the mask was no longer mandatory for children,

 " said the spokesperson.

When the incidence rate goes above the threshold of 50 per 100,000 inhabitants, the mask automatically returns to primary schools.

The teachers, they already had to continue to wear it.

We have had a compass since the start of this crisis,

" said Gabriel Attal, "

is that when we can alleviate measures of constraint, we do it.

Obviously this principle goes both ways and as soon as the situation deteriorates, unfortunately, we have to reactivate a number of measures.

 "

Even before the All Saints' Day holidays, the mask had already become compulsory again for primary school pupils in 21 departments, including Lozère or even those in the Paris region.

This will therefore bring the departments where the students must wear it to around sixty.

♦ In Paris, children have always been obliged to wear the mask.

They adapt more or less to this constraint, like these children of a primary school who tell themselves at the microphone of

Tanguy Roman Clavelloux

, of the France service.

When I feel like sneezing, I wear my mask and sometimes I like it.

It gives me a bit of guilis, says Valentin.

For Yakoum on the contrary, the mask is annoying, it prevents him from breathing ... others are cunning ...
