Statistics issued by the Traffic and Patrols Department at the General Command of Sharjah Police revealed a 75% decrease in the number of traffic accident deaths on five vital streets during the past 10 months, compared to the same period last year.

The Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department, Lt. Col. Muhammad Alai Al-Naqbi, stressed that the leadership is keen to achieve its goals consistent with the strategic objective of the Ministry of Interior, which aims to make roads safer, with the aim of reducing the rate of accidents and reducing deaths caused by traffic accidents.

He explained that the leadership is working to implement many traffic initiatives, which contributes to reducing the percentage of accidents that result in deaths and severe accidents, and the use of artificial intelligence applications in monitoring roads, and redistributing radar devices according to hot spots in a number of streets, in addition to intensifying traffic patrols. According to prepared plans.

Alai pointed out that the administration has made efforts to intensify field and electronic traffic awareness for all segments of society, enhance the awareness of road users, and work on preparing engineering reports for roads, in cooperation with the strategic partner, the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, and the Ministry of Infrastructure, to enhance road safety in the Emirate of Sharjah.

He called on drivers and road users to abide by the rules of traffic, adhere to the specified speeds on the road, and be careful and alert while driving.
