6th Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China opens today in Beijing for four days.

The Chongyang Committee holds 7 plenary meetings between the party congresses, which are held once every 5 years.

This six-fold plenary session is expected to emphasize the justification of President Xi Jinping's long-term tenure ahead of the 20th Party Congress next fall.

Xi has already removed the provision limiting the three consecutive terms in the 2018 constitution.

In particular, in this 6th plenary session, the 'resolution on the significant achievements and historical experiences of the Party's 100-year struggle' is deliberated.

Since its founding, the Chinese Communist Party has adopted historical resolutions only twice: Mao Zedong in 1945 and Deng Xiaoping in 1981.

This historic resolution is expected to highlight Xi's achievements and ideology, and to elevate Xi to the same ranks as Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping.

[Chinese state-run CCTV report: (The 6th session) is a new process to lead the party by looking back on history, thinking about practice, and grasping the rules to completely build a modernized socialist country.]

The meeting, attended by about 300 people, including the Central Committee of the Communist Party and candidate members, will be held privately, and the results are expected to be announced through the 'public notice' on the 11th, the closing day.
