Marco Orsi

won the gold medal in the final of the men's 100m mixed short course, in the opening round of the last day of the European Swimming Championships, in Kazan in Russia.



The 30-year-old from Emilia, nicknamed the 'Bomber of Budrio', Fiamme Oro - Circolo Nuoto Uisp Bologna, becomes continental champion with a time of 50 "95, the first Italian to break down the 51" wall, beating the record by eight thousandths which he himself had held since 2018, and setting the Italian record after a race conducted from the very first meters. Silver to the Greek Andreas Vazaios, bronze to the Austrian Bernhard Reitshammer.



Another medal for Italy in the men's 50 breaststroke of the European short course swimming championships was won by the Lombard

Nicolò Martinenghi

with the bronze. Martinenghi, conquered the third podium in 25 "54, behind the Belarusian Ilya Shymanovich (25" 25), gold, and the Turkish Emre Sakci, silver. Fourth time for Fabio Scozzoli, another blue on stage in this final.
