U.S. Army announced that the ROK and U.S. military conducted a nuclear response drill at the Idaho National Laboratory in the U.S. from the 18th to the 22nd of last month local time.

The participating units are the U.S. Army's NDT Nuclear Disabling Force and the NCT Nuclear Specialization Team of the Korean Army's Chemistry and Radiation Command.

The U.S. Army introduced the sixth exercise since 2018, but this is the first time that the training has been disclosed to the outside world.

The U.S. Army explained that the training was conducted in such a way that the U.S. military instructed the South Korean military to formulate a nuclear response operation plan, use nuclear facility detectors, track battles, and decontaminate the South Korean military, and then personnel from both countries worked hand in hand.

The South Korean training officer said in a press release that he had encountered 'actual nuclear-related facilities' for the first time.

In particular, this exercise is at a time when senior North Korean nuclear representatives from the United States and South Korea alternately met in Washington and Seoul.

It is noteworthy how North Korea will react to the move of the United States, which showed off its capabilities to disable North Korea's nuclear program while urging us to engage in dialogue on denuclearization.
