It was shortly after midnight on Friday that the alarm about the fire came.

Many of the residents at Värdshuset are guest workers who work with building wind farms.

Dominik Przybylsky works as a crane driver and was asleep when his colleague, Radoslav, knocked on the door.

- He saved my life and many lives, says Dominik.

Even though their room was a short distance from the hearth, the smoke in the corridors was heavy.

Just over 45 people were evacuated to Kulturhuset, a few hundred meters away.

The municipality had quickly arranged beds for everyone.

- Only a few years ago we practiced in a similar scenario, where we quickly need to offer many protections.

Unreal that it has now happened, reflects Ulf Jonsson Ejergård, head of leisure, tourism and culture at Åsele municipality.

Crane driver Dominik Przybylsky is both grateful and impressed with the response to the evacuation.
