The Sdis 17 unveiled on its Facebook page a moving recording dating from August.

That of the call of a father parked on the side of a national road with the head of his newborn baby who is not breathing in his arms.

It's a call this firefighter will remember.

The one who allowed, thanks to the latter's cold blood and the calm of a young dad, to resuscitate a newborn baby.

The scene takes place on an August night, more precisely on the 6th, around 3 a.m.

The phone rings at Sdis 17, at the end of the line, a man stopped on the side of the national 11, near the small town of Nuaillé d'Aunis, in Charente-Maritime.

"I have the head of the newborn, he is out!"

While heading for the nearest maternity hospital with his partner, he is forced to park: childbirth is imminent.

"I have the head of the newborn, he came out, he came out!", Repeats the very young father on the phone.

Only here, the little one does not seem to breathe on his own.

With composure, the firefighter then delivers his instructions to the father to unclog the baby's airways.

"You have to inhale to unblock her nostrils."

The young mother then takes over to describe the gestures made by her companion, before the first tears ring out.

The firefighter will then give advice on how to warm the infant.

The baby will then be quickly taken care of by the Samu and taken safely to the hospital.
