We are experiencing a pandemic for the unvaccinated.

This sentence comes from doctors from a Frankfurt hospital, where they are fighting for the lives of their Covid patients in the intensive care unit.

They know what they're talking about.

Your patients can no longer do it.

Because if their lives were saved in the hospital, it doesn't mean they were won in the real world.

Covid consequences can be terrible.

And we are experiencing a pandemic of the unvaccinated ignorant who, in a grotesque twist, believe they know more than the vaccinated.

They think the vaccine was developed too quickly, despite the fact that it has been fundamentally researched and carefully tested for more than a decade.

Who have heard a myth of some kind - which they think will take years to refute and therefore negate the enormous risk that they therefore accept.

There are parents in Frankfurt who forbid their 17-year-old daughters to be vaccinated even though they have been vaccinated themselves.

The reason: worries that cannot be rationally justified, but cannot therefore rationally be refuted.

Unless you begin to seriously weight the risks.

The divided society

The pandemic of the unvaccinated is now reaching the whole of society in winter and an economy that no longer wants to be held under custody. Those who attend events in the region these days, for which the vaccination card must be presented at the entrance, will experience the divided society at work. In front of the entrance, excitement among those who did not reach the embassy, behind it faces asking why it has not been done this way for a long time. And what should the people in the old people's homes say about it who have to fear the worst for themselves again.

The citizens look to Wiesbaden and Berlin with amazement.

Because the corona numbers are climbing again, also in Hesse, especially in Frankfurt.

In the past, prime ministers discussed how to proceed in such situations.

After all, the health ministers finally tightened the screws again on Friday.

Because the health authorities are already waving their hand when it comes to the traceability of the infection chains.

Surveys show: the majority of the population is in this situation for compulsory vaccination.

One is tired of being held under custody for literally selfish behavior.

The politicians who can decide on this should grant the majority of the Hessians this wish.

It would save many lives.

It would protect large numbers of patients from serious long-term Covid damage.

It wouldn't make Covid go away, but it would make it an infectious disease that is manageable, that no longer corrodes society.

We need more tests, booster vaccinations and yes, a mandatory vaccination.
