An alarming rise

The daily number of contaminations is rising sharply in the country, which recorded 9,388 new cases on Friday, barely less than the record of 9,586 reached a year ago, when the second of three national lockdowns was declared. decided so far.

"The development is exceptional and the occupancy of intensive care beds is increasing significantly faster than expected," Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg said at a press conference.

The measures announced this Friday will come into force on Monday, when a four-week transition period will also begin during which a single dose of vaccine combined with a negative PCR test will allow access to places or events from which will be excluded. unvaccinated people.

At the end of this period, only people fully vaccinated or recently recovered from Covid-19 will be authorized.
