“The President of Belarus has a valid invitation to visit Crimea, the oldest one,” TASS quoted Peskov as answering the question of whether Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to officially invite his Belarusian counterpart to the peninsula.

In September, Peskov said that the Russian side is not raising the issue of Belarus' recognition of Crimea, since this is a sovereign affair of the republic.

Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum in March 2014, in which a majority of residents voted in favor of reunification with Russia.
