Scandal The jet psychiatrist believes that the patients who accuse him of abuse have a "desire to take center stage"
Courts Matilde Solís, on the psychiatrist Javier Criado: "I suffered sexual abuse"
The trial against the
Sevillian psychiatrist Javier Criado
for an alleged crime against the
moral integrity
of one of his patients has started this Wednesday in the Criminal Court number 9 of Seville, with a request by the Prosecutor's Office for two years in prison and one
compensation of 6,000 euros.
This is the
only case that goes ahead
of the eight women who
three years ago denounced
the psychiatrist for alleged malpractice and abuse, in which the complainant requests two and a half years in prison and 40,000 euros.
Most of the complaints
were filed because the crimes had prescribed,
when the events went back to the period between 1985 and 2005, with accusations, among others, of
professional intrusion,
omission of the duty to help, against moral integrity, continued sexual abuse and
induction to suicide.
In the case that has continued, the Court of Instruction number 19 of Seville issued in November 2018 the order to open an oral trial for a crime against moral integrity and "ignored" the request for four crimes of injuries that had been filed the complainant, whose private accusation is exercised by the one who asked for three years in prison for each of these crimes.
The initial request by the alleged victim was for 14 and a half years imprisonment.
The instructor sent Criado to trial for the
sexual innuendo and profanity
and denigrating that he allegedly performed on that patient during the four sessions he had with him between January 20 and February 9, 2015.
The ex-wife of the Duke of Alba
Among the women who claimed to be victims of Criado's abuse was
Matilde Solís,
former wife of the Duke of Alba, who in 2015 shared a letter in which she claimed that the psychiatrist
led her to attempt suicide.
Two years later, the mother of the future Duke of Alba again shared a few words about her experience and denounced Criado.

"Hello! In the letter I wrote months ago, I did not specify what type of abuse Javier Criado subjected me to, so I say it now.
I suffered sexual abuse.
Apart from everything else. The women who have given their testimony, have given me a lot of strength. Let the psychiatrist be ashamed.
I will not do it anymore, "
Solís, who is part of the Veritas Victims Association, which brings together 32 women who claim to be victims of doctor malpractice
,
writes in his letter.
