03 November 2021 The unemployment rate in September falls to 9.2% despite the increase among young people aged 15-24 to 29.8% (+1.8 points).



Compared to January 2021, in September there was a positive balance of just over 500 thousand employees.

To give the boost to the recovery is the dependent work that grows by about 520 thousand units.

Istat underlines this in the comment to the provisional data on employed and unemployed.



The employment rate is higher by 1.5 percentage points.

Compared to the pre-pandemic levels, i.e. February 2020, the number of employed is more than 300 thousand units, the employment rate and the unemployment rate are respectively 0.4 and 0.6 points lower, while the inactivity rate is 0.9 points higher.
