China News Service, Taipei, November 3 - A fishing boat caught fire off the coast of Taichung, Taiwan. On the 3rd, Taiwan’s “Marine Patrol Agency” sent a patrol boat to rescue the Taichung Marine Patrol Team. Six people including crew members on both sides of the strait were rescued. Fortunately, none was injured.

According to Taiwan media reports such as the Central News Agency and United News Network, the third shore patrol team of the Central Bureau of Taiwan’s "Maritime Patrol Agency" issued a press release stating that it received a report from Taichung Fishery Radio at 7:22 in the morning that there was a Taiwanese fishing boat off the coast of Taichung Port. There was a fire and a total of 6 people on board, including the captain, were awaiting rescue, including 3 Taiwanese, 1 mainlander and 2 Indonesians.

After receiving the report, the Taichung Marine Patrol team immediately dispatched a patrol boat to rescue. Fortunately, none of the six people on the fishing boat were injured.

After the fishing boat fire was extinguished, because the boat had no electricity and could not drain the water in the engine room by itself, the water pumping motor of the patrol boat assisted in the drainage, and then the captain asked other boats to leave the port to assist in the towing back.
