With the expansion, it is hoped to be able to get more text message lifeguards and especially in the countryside so that more people can run to cardiac arrest.
The reason why Region Sörmland does not expand the SMS radius even further is due to studies conducted in southern Sweden.
- The tests show that 10,000 meters is the perfect distance for us to be able to catch more, but also that they should come before the ambulance and rescue service.

This is how SMS lifesaving works
When someone calls 112 in the event of a cardiac arrest, an automatic alarm is sent out to all SMS lifeguards within the intended radius.
