Samba, with all its stars, sings for the love of life at Expo 2020 Dubai

Amidst the melodies of samba and the parades celebrating the love of life in the Brazilian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, the Afro-Brazilian singer and award-winning star, Fabia Cosa, returned to the clamor of the show orchestra after an absence of 14 years.

The Brazilian artist confirmed to "Emirates Today" that she did not hesitate to accept the invitation of the "Jazz Symphony Orchestra" to participate in "Expo 2020", on her first visit to Dubai, and to present performances in the Brazilian pavilion participating in the international exhibition.

She said: "The year 2007 was my last appearance on the orchestra theaters, before dedicating myself to promoting my artistic culture and opening new doors of Afro-Brazilian singing styles, by visiting the countries of the brown continent and drawing inspiration from their cultural and lyrical styles and merging them with the famous Brazilian samba melodies. Civilizations without hesitation to accept the return to the orchestra clamor from the gate of Expo 2020 Dubai, being the first time I visit the famous city in the world.”

The Brazilian star added: “The magic of samba melodies and dance represents a national cultural identity for Brazil around the world, and participation in the Brazilian pavilion at (Expo Dubai) represented the appropriate opportunity to accept the challenge and return to the show orchestra, especially since major challenges imposed on me in the return of vocal training to harmonize with the presentation of performances. Consecutive daily in the Brazilian pavilion, accompanied by international singer Wilson Simonina, in shows entitled: Samba is the size of the world.

And she continued: “Creativity was the most distinguished title at the (Expo Dubai), so that we, along with (the Jazz Symphony Orchestra), are keen to present performances that mix Brazilian musical styles and jazz melodies, which coincided, in part, with performances and skills in football, the language that Brazilians and fans of the legend adore. Pele around the world, with large screens allocated around the stage that showed many promotional aspects of Brazil in general, and Sao Paulo in particular, along with clips of the samba team matches and the goals of the brown jewel Pele.

She stressed: "What we have seen on the ground has exceeded expectations, in Dubai's ability to always stand out and be unique, because it embraced in part the cultures of the whole world under one dome through (Expo) so that I have the honor to add to my artistic career being here in Dubai and participating in this." The exhibition, which is the largest in the history of international exhibitions.

The Brazilian international singer, Wilson Simonina, revealed the challenges that the Jazz Symphony Orchestra faced in its preparation stages, most notably the success in overcoming the vast distances that separated the four regions, each of which was designated to prepare a part of the show that was presented at the "Expo Dubai".

Simonina told «Emirates Today»: "The final rehearsals in Sao Paulo were limited to only three days before heading to Dubai, but it was enough to crown an effort that extended for three months of preparation that took place in four different and distant regions in Brazil, both those dedicated to the players. The 22 participants in the orchestra, or the areas where the number of show dancers was witnessed, and the third in which the show football was trained, and finally the singing performance studios.

He added, "Great efforts were made to produce the (orchestra) in a successful way, but the insistence on representing Brazil at Expo 2020 Dubai, on our first visit to Dubai, was enough to give everyone the incentive to perform better, which we managed to show ably. By presenting successive performances to the visitors of the exhibition, each of which lasted about 45 minutes.

The Brazilian singer continued: "Exclusivity was the most prominent title that we were keen to show here in Dubai, in shows that brought together exceptional languages ​​of musical creativity in all its spectrums, combining jazz and samba melodies, leading to the keenness to integrate water and beach culture into the show dances, which are among the main pillars. The famous parades and festivals in Brazil, all the way to fascinate the audience with the ability to combine musical performance and football skills through specialized elements in this field.”

Fabia Cosa said, "The widespread reputation that preceded the launch of Expo 2020 Dubai, and its being the largest event in the history of international exhibitions, was another encouraging factor for her to be part of this event, and to introduce the different cultures around the world that are under one dome of 192 countries, with the cultural heritage. The famous Brazilian samba, not only in terms of performances, but also in the patterns of melodies that touch the passion of life.”
