An investigation was opened after an eventful evening in Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), Saturday in the town hall district.

Three restaurants were evacuated and one concert was canceled after a bomb threat.

Operations were carried out for about two hours by deminers from the Basque coast but no explosive device was identified.

It all started with a call from a visibly alcoholic person on a town hall phone line at around 7 p.m.

The man made five phone calls and on the last one said he had planted a bomb at City Hall.

The guard, who had received the calls, alerted the police, reports

La République des Pyrénées

The police were still looking for the individual at the origin of the incident on Sunday morning.

Tickets for the concert reimbursed

In a press release relayed by

Sud-Ouest

, the Tonnerre de Jazz association reacted after the cancellation of Yoann Loustalot's concert at the Saint-Louis theater.

"The people who had reserved and paid for their place will of course be reimbursed", assures the structure.
