To the tunes of high-end musical instruments, Finland, the happiest country in the world, revived its national day at Expo 2020 Dubai, yesterday, and the celebration of the flag-raising ceremony began in Al Wasl Square, and the national anthems of the UAE and Finland were played.

The celebration included lively performances by singer Cantlie Edalina, with the participation of the Seminarinman Miaslatogat choir known as "Simarett".

The Simarit troupe enchanted the audience with their fine pieces of Finnish instrumentals.

The ceremony was attended by the Speaker of the Federal National Council, Saqr Ghobash, the Speaker of the Finnish Parliament, Anne Vevelayinen, and the Executive Director of "Expo 2020 Dubai", Najeeb Muhammad Al-Ali.

The President of the Finnish Parliament congratulated the UAE on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its founding, noting the amazing development that the UAE has witnessed in the past 50 years, and its outlook for the future, which made it one of the best destinations in the world.

She described the relations between the UAE and Finland as excellent in all sectors, with great opportunities for work and economic cooperation between the two countries. The international exhibition achieves impressive results at the end of the session.

"Finland is happy to be among the 192 countries present at the fair, through her country's pavilion, which hosts about 100 Finnish companies from various sectors, which is the strongest participation of Finland in its history," Vehvelayinen said, noting that Finland is the happiest country in the world. What made the world wonder about the reasons for our happiness.

She explained: “Despite the harsh nature of our country, which is characterized by the presence of clouds and snow throughout the year, from this podium I will answer this question: We are happy that we are a safe and stable society with advanced education and equality for all, as all these factors contribute to making our society innovative. She stressed that Finland and the UAE share the goals of climate protection and sustainable development, and that "Expo 2020 Dubai" is an important opportunity for cooperation and success, for a better future that achieves happiness for all.

For his part, Najeeb Al-Ali said: "Finland has a long and long history with (Expo), the latest of which is its strong participation in (Expo 2020 Dubai) with a sophisticated pavilion that highlights innovation in all its aspects."

Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali, Executive Director of Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “Hosting Finland’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai (the Circular Economy Forum) seeks to accelerate the transition towards a cleaner, greener and happier future, as the country continues the process of reforming its economic model to enhance sustainability.”
