The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Residents Office of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, has announced the update of health insurance requirements for applicants for golden residence permits, with the aim of simplifying the application process for all applicants from inside and outside the country and facilitating their transition to live and settle in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The Department of Health specified the requirements and procedures for health insurance for the purposes of issuing a golden residency in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as these categories were defined into two types. 23 of 2005 and its amendments and executive regulations.

As for the second category, it included applicants for golden residence permits other than the first category, where they must provide comprehensive health insurance for themselves and members of their families valid in the UAE during the period of their stay in it, and if the applicant for a golden residence permit does not have health insurance, he must submit a pledge to provide it Otherwise, he must bear all costs of medical treatment and health services, if necessary.

The new procedures for obtaining golden residency include simplified and clear options for each category, according to the stated requirements.

Dr. Jamal Muhammad Al Kaabi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, said: “In implementation of the leadership’s directives, we continue to work alongside the Abu Dhabi Residents Office to activate the golden residency program, modernize and simplify the application procedures and make them more smooth and easy, which contributes to attracting and receiving the emirate’s best competencies from all over the world. the world in various sectors and guarantees their access to health care services during their stay in it.” The Department of Health Abu Dhabi, along with the Abu Dhabi Residents Office, organized a virtual ceremony to honor the 500 doctors who obtained golden residency, in appreciation of their efforts and dedication in the health care sector, in a step that emphasizes the importance of enabling the preservation and attraction of talent from all over the world to make Abu Dhabi a place to live and work. .

Sameh Al Qubaisi, Executive Director of the Executive Affairs Office at the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, said: "We are keen to provide all the facilities and advantages enjoyed by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to ensure a decent life for all residents in the emirate, and this is the responsibility of all relevant authorities, the most important of which is the Abu Dhabi Residents Office."
