It was 12 August this year that the police and ambulance were alerted to the Swedish Migration Agency's premises in Flen.

A severely stabbed man was found at the scene.

Sprayed and stabbed

According to the stabbed man, he had been attacked by a 44-year-old man while lying down in a bed.

He was first sprayed in the face with tear gas and then stabbed in the stomach.

The knife remained when he got up, it sat deep in the abdomen but after a while managed to pull it out.

Attempted murder

The district court believes that it is proven that the act took place in that way and that the attack caused danger to life for the injured.

The 44-year-old is now convicted of attempted murder, but also of a serious unlawful threat against another person in connection with the incident.

The man is also convicted of a gun crime.

Forensic Psychiatric Care

Since the man is said to have committed the acts under the influence of a serious mental disorder, he is sentenced to forensic psychiatric care with a special discharge examination.

He will then be deported after serving his sentence.

The 44-year-old must also pay damages to the knife-cut and the person he threatened.
