October 30, 2021 Young environmental activist Greta Thunberg arrived in

Glasgow

, Scotland, on the eve of the crucial UN climate summit,

COP26

. According to the Daily Mail, she was given a "rock star welcome".

The Swedish activist arrived at Glasgow Central Station in the late afternoon on a train from London. When she got out of her wagon, she was surrounded by police and other activists and supporters with placards and chants.

Thunberg, who yesterday declared that she had not been officially invited to COP26, is expected to participate in various demonstrations, scheduled for the two weeks of the summit.

On 5 November, for example, a march in the city is scheduled to be organized by Fridays for Future Scotland, the local branch of the movement born from Thunberg's initiative.
