The Salon du Chocolat, which is held at Porte de Versailles in Paris, opened on Thursday.

The opportunity to delight the taste buds and discover chocolates from all over the world but also French chocolatiers who have come to present their creations.

Made in France is in the spotlight until Monday.

Since Thursday, chocolate has become the flagship ingredient at the Parc des Expositions at Porte de Versailles in Paris.

Among the displays of dark and brown chocolates, a blue-white-red tablet stands out.

It is a 100% French chocolate.

"The beans collected in Guyana, then they are transported to France", testifies Olivia Thiebo, the sales manager of the brand Les chocolats des Français.

"Our artisan chocolatier, in the south of France, will take care of all the work from the bean to the bar," she explains.

Made in France in the spotlight

An unmissable event that makes the happiness of many visitors.

On the program: workshops, live demonstrations and tastings of chocolates from around the world.

But this show is also an opportunity to discover the creations of French chocolate makers who do everything to produce as much French as possible despite the costs.

Here, it takes 12 euros for a 100 gram tablet, ten times more than a standard tablet.

"People are willing to pay more"

For Eric Duplanteur, chocolate maker, this cost is justified: "It is felt a little bit on the price, there are taxes to pay and even the staff which is a little more expensive in France than abroad but I think that people are prepared to pay more, ”he said.

The chocolate maker is also convinced that he will sell his 500 bars by Monday.
