The technical advisor in the office of the Minister of Community Development, Saeed Abdullah, revealed to "Emirates Today", that the ministry launched tests that measure awareness of electronic security among children, to train them to protect themselves from any intrusions that might lure them into harmful actions and unsafe worlds, adding that the ministry will work in the next stage. To circulate these tests to school students, through the departments concerned with social and family protection in the Ministry.

Abdullah said that two forms of electronic tests were designed within the electronic security platform of the Ministry of Community Development, which is available on the ministry's website, one for children, and the other for adults, such as parents and teachers, adding that each test consists of 12 questions, but they differ in terms of language level. And the method of presenting the idea, in order to suit the children’s ability to understand the questions, and to ensure their interaction with the topics covered by its various themes, while the test for adults focuses on alerting them to certain electronic risks that must be learned to confront while following up on their children.

Abdullah stressed that cybersecurity has become one of the most important matters, after various aspects of life and its activities are taking place through the virtual world, especially for children and adolescents who are spending most of their time on the Internet, at a time in this world there are countless dangers that must be paid attention to. Building a culture in the generation that ensures that it is able to protect itself and not slip into unsafe paths.

Abdullah explained that the questions in the test simulate the daily reality of the child, and relate to the activities that he does frequently, such as participating in a certain game, which requires him to design a secret password, stressing that the lack of experience in how to create a secure password is one of the most problems. Which leads to exposure of customer accounts to hack.

He added that the participation of the child in answering the questions will alert him to a lot of necessary information, and train him to use the correct methods while he is in the virtual world.

He pointed out that the ministry has provided a booklet on its website, directed to children, under the title "A Conscious Generation", and includes a set of topics related to electronic phishing, personal security, and other topics that help him understand the risks in a simple language, and train him to be careful of any attempts to lure him into illegal actions. moral or criminal.

He stressed that the child can enter the test page available on the electronic security platform on the ministry's website, without any barriers, because the way to participate is easy and the test questions are direct and in a simple and clear language.

Regarding the test directed to parents, Abdullah said that it aims to ensure that they are sufficiently aware of the dangers of electronic life, and that they have experience in how to protect their children through their prior awareness of the problems they may face, as well as their ability to act properly in the event that one of them is exposed to a hack or damage.

Children who pass the electronic security test, prepared by the Ministry of Community Development, receive a certificate authenticated by an electronic seal and authenticated by the blockchain technology.

The Ministry considered the children's obtaining of these certificates as an important moral reward that will have an impact on instilling the child's self-confidence, as well as representing appreciation and thanks that will encourage him to interact and respond to awareness activities.
