With our correspondent in Bamako,

Serge Daniel

I am Issa Kaou N'Djim, I am fourth vice-president of the National Transitional Council

": at the bar, the accused, calm and draped in a dark boubou, has just introduced himself.

In the packed courtroom, we hear the words flown over.

Do you recognize the facts?

», Asks the president of the court, Diarra Fatoumata Sidibé.

“

No

!

», Retorts the accused vigorously.

The public prosecutor of Commune 4 of Bamako is stepping up to the plate. For him,

Kaou N'Djim

goes out regularly to attack the institutions of the Malian Republic, in particular Prime Minister Choguel Maïga. "

You are helping to destabilize the country,

 " adds the prosecutor.

The accused challenges and affirms: “

I love my country, I love my country.

However, three months in prison are required against him.

One of the defense lawyers, Me Kassoum Tapo, takes the floor.

He accuses the prosecution of mixing "

law and politics

 ".

He then evokes the parliamentary immunity of his client and asks not to confuse cybercrime offense and press offense.

He concludes: “

It is about freedom of expression, the facts cannot be prosecuted.

 "

After a recess, the court withdraws to deliberate.

The president of the court returns and announces the deliberation for December 3 while rejecting the request for provisional release of Kaou N'Djim, who therefore returns to prison.
