Pfizer vaccine for children aged 5-11 is urgently approved in the United States.
The decision follows the unanimous recommendation of the FDA advisory body to vaccinate children with Pfizer.
About 28 million children of this age group, previously excluded from vaccination, are now able to receive the coronavirus vaccine.
However, children are given two doses of the vaccine, one-third the adult dose, three weeks apart.
