China News Service, Beijing, October 28 (Reporter Chen Hang) The reporter learned from the Beijing Major Project Office that as the final work of the Beijing Winter Olympics project, it will undertake the opening of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. The closing ceremony of the National Stadium ("Bird's Nest") renovation project was completed on the 28th.
The Beijing Winter Olympics will have three competition areas: Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou.
Beijing is mainly responsible for the construction tasks of Beijing and Yanqing competition area.
Ding Jianming, deputy director of the Beijing Major Projects Construction Headquarters Office, stated that the construction of the 8 competition venues, 16 non-competition venues and 31 supporting infrastructure for the Winter Olympics under the charge of Beijing has all completed the construction tasks.
All competition venues have been certified by individual international organizations and have undergone multiple testing activities.
8 competition venues and 16 non-competition venues have been successively delivered to the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, and all 31 supporting infrastructures have been put into use.
Xiang Jun, chairman of the National Stadium Co., Ltd. mentioned that the National Stadium will fully start various renovation tasks in April 2020 and will be officially completed on October 28 this year.

The National Stadium mainly upgrades the barrier-free facility system, landscape lighting system, spectator service facility system and other facilities and equipment systems, including adding barrier-free ramps on the northeast side of the perimeter base of the stadium, and updating 18 barrier-free elevators throughout the stadium. In the grandstand distribution area, 128 hot water direct drinking fountains have been added, which have the ability to supply outdoor warm water in winter; the bathroom sink in the audience area can also provide hot water.
In order to enhance the reliability of the stadium operation, the National Stadium upgraded all the sound reinforcement systems of the venues and auditoriums, using a total of 244 latest linear array technology speakers, digital power amplifiers and other equipment, all domestic products with independent intellectual property rights.
Ding Jianming said that the Beijing competition area highlights the advantages of the "Double Olympic City". Except for the National Speed Skating Stadium "Ice Ribbon" and the Shougang Ski Jumping platform, other competition venues have used the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games venues.
A large number of non-competitive venues "borrowed" Beijing's large-scale public service facilities, such as the Beijing Winter Olympic Village to provide services for athletes and coaches, and will be rented to the society as a public rental housing for talents in Beijing after the game.
Ding Jianming said that the construction of temporary facilities for the Beijing and Yanqing Winter Olympics has been in full swing, involving the spectator watching system, athlete service system, television broadcasting, epidemic prevention, logistics, etc., and will be basically completed by the end of this year as planned.
