The famous social network will continue to be called Facebook.

It is the name of the company which becomes Meta, “beyond” in ancient Greek, for

metaverse

, an entirely fictitious and immersive “meta-universe” in which one will enter with an avatar which will allow teleporting everywhere.

With this double of yourself you could virtually try on pants in a store, attend a concert, a movie night with friends, a business meeting or even visit ancient Rome.

“

,” Zuckerberg says.

A Facebook of the future that the American press already compares to a dystopian nightmare as in the movie The

Matrix

.

This "metaverse" will be commonplace within 10 years, explains Zuckerberg, who promises that privacy will be respected.

This while Facebook is embroiled in one of its worst reputation crises with

endless whistleblower Frances Haugan

revelations

.

On Wednesday, this former employee who accuses Facebook of endangering democracy in the name of profit, was heard by the British Parliament.

With Facebook the worst is yet to come

", warned Frances Haugan in front of the British elected officials.
