"

We want to see Chad among the main partners of our country in Africa

", declared the Turkish president.

During the press conference at the end of the meeting between the host and his Chadian counterpart, the former stressed that his country was ready to provide "

any kind of support

" to Chad during the country's transition period.

Mahamat Idriss Déby told him that Turkish-Chadian relations were very old and covered areas ranging from military cooperation to educational or trade agreements.

Several technical agreements were signed, but the important thing was not there.

Because the visit of the President of the Chadian Transitional Military Council to Ankara, at Turkish invitation, is obviously not trivial.

Turkey wants to make itself indispensable on the African continent.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also returned from a mini tour in Africa, during which he visited Angola, Nigeria and Togo.
