　　Putin emphasized that Russia is well aware of the dangers of the current situation and therefore unilaterally announced the suspension of the deployment of medium- and short-range missiles in the Asia-Pacific region and other regions of the world.

Russia has therefore called on all relevant countries to conduct serious consultations on the suspension of the deployment of medium- and short-range missiles.

In August 2019, the treaty officially expired.
