Judge Angelo Giorgianni, councilor at the Court of Appeal of Messina, suspended from his functions and salary, and on 9 October last spoke in Rome from the stage of the no green pass in Piazza del Popolo.

This was decided by the Disciplinary Section of the CSM, accepting the request of the Attorney General of the Cassation Giovanni Salvi.

Jeans, blue jacket and tie, Giorgianni had attracted the attention of the crowd as soon as he got on the stage in Piazza del Popolo, first by proclaiming the repeal of the green pass and then speaking of an "eviction notice" given by the "sovereign people" to " those who illegally occupy the buildings of power ".

"We want a trial for them, a new Nuremberg" he added in a crescendo of tones, demanding on behalf of the protesters "justice for the dead, the deprivation, the suffering they caused".

Then followed what seemed to be the announcement of immediate resignation from the judiciary: "To those who say that my position is incompatible, I reply that I choose the sovereign people and leave the toga".

The judge had not yet abandoned his toga, as he seemed to have intended to do immediately after the demonstration on 9 October: he had asked the CSM to be placed at rest, but only starting from January 2022.

The Minister of Justice, Marta Cartabia, reacted by instructing her inspectors to carry out investigations.

Then, the Pg of the Cassation also moved, while the CSM the Area group had asked for the opening of a practice in the First Commission.

Before the Disciplinary Section, Giorgianni's defense had tried to play the postponement card, attaching the magistrate's request to anticipate retirement to November.

To no avail, however, given that the court of robes went straight on its way, accepting the request of the Pg.
