Xi Jinping pointed out that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan 45 years ago, the two sides have always respected and treated each other as equals, supported each other on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns, maintained peace and stability in the South Pacific region, and promoted regional development and prosperity.
The relationship between China and Papua New Guinea has become a model of peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation between countries of different sizes and different social systems.
China firmly supports Papua New Guinea to take a development path that suits its national conditions and is willing to work with Papua New Guinea to push bilateral relations to a higher level.
China is willing to continue to provide Papua New Guinea with economic and technical assistance without any political conditions, and provide various support for Papua New Guinea in its fight against the new crown pneumonia epidemic.
The two sides should work together to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in areas such as poverty reduction, resource protection and utilization, and promote cooperation in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" to achieve more results.
Xi Jinping emphasized that Papua New Guinea has an important influence in the Pacific island countries. China is willing to work with Papua New Guinea to grasp the general direction of bilateral friendly cooperation and build a community of shared future between China and the Pacific island countries.
The two sides should strengthen coordination and cooperation on international multilateral occasions, address climate change and other challenges, actively implement global development initiatives, adhere to true multilateralism, and safeguard international fairness and justice and the common interests of developing countries.
Malape said that, 45 years ago, Papua New Guinea took the lead in recognizing one China among Pacific island countries.
Over the past 45 years, relations between the two countries have maintained a good momentum of development.
