25 October 2021 A people in the streets against the army of their country: these are decisive hours for the history of Sudan.

Decisive days also for the budget laws of many countries and numbers are crowded on the front pages: 5 million public employees in the United Kingdom will see increases in their paychecks, thanks to the maneuver of Chancellor Rishi Sunak, while the Sanchez government in Spain is betting on Generational turnover of the teaching staff at the University: every 10 professors who retire, in the next few years they will be replaced by 12.

But other numbers say of an epochal change, translate into concrete the famous 'ecological transition' and the enormous transfer of profits , employment and the incomes it entails.

Tesla puts an end to the dominance of the Golf

Model 3 is the best-selling car in Europe for the first time

This is an epochal transition for VW and for the entire German and European automotive sector.

In September, according to data from the analysis company Jato Dynamics, 24,591 Model 3s and 17,507 Golfs were registered, only fourth in Europe, behind Renault Clio and Dacia Sandero. The data covers 26 auto markets in Europe, including Great Britain, Norway and Switzerland. This ranking is significant for two reasons: "It is both the first time that an electric vehicle is first in Europe and the first time for a model produced outside of Europe", say Jato analysts. For several months, only new registrations of electric cars have been growing in Europe, while sales of petrol and diesel vehicles have fallen sharply. The share of diesel in September was 17%, well below the share of electric cars, 23% of new vehicles. In addition to government bonuses for electric cars in several European countries, this is also due to the strict climate regulations for the industry, called to reduce CO 2 emissions in fleets, and to the shortage on the markets of microchips, which Tesla, experts explain, "is facing better than established car manufacturers".

published: the hidden crisis

The automotive industry is in the midst of the greatest upheaval in its history. Innovation and research have never been more important. Because it is a question of pure survival. Disruption of the automotive industry with the ecological transition is inevitable. But when, where and especially who will be "destroyed" by the change is not yet clear. One thing is certain: the manufacturers and suppliers who are particularly innovative now, will ultimately be the winners of the battle, indeed, the survivors. To understand who they are, we need to look at the patents filed in recent months

ahead of the climate summit, tension among President Biden's advisers on policy towards China

Earlier this summer, John F. Kerry told President Biden that he would not meet his goal on climate change, a key administration priority, unless the United States managed to improve relations with China. But in the meantime, Kerry's talks with his Chinese counterpart have run into a lot of trouble as Beijing has insisted that climate cooperation would not start with strained relations on human rights, Hong Kong, Taiwan, trade and a host of other issues. Now, just days away from COP26 in Glasgow, expectations for a major breakthrough are low. Chinese President Xi Jinping will not attend in person, and Washington and Beijing face internal political constraints on their international climate ambitions.Kerry has repeatedly pushed for direct diplomacy between Biden and Xi, White House advisers, including National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, are more skeptical that the US alone can persuade China to cut emissions. The hard line towards China has satisfied the hawks in the State Department and in the Pentagon, as well as in Congress, pleased with the continuity from the Trump era when it comes to tariffs and human rights. KfW - ka fe ve as a universal weapon

Kreditanstalt is the credit institution for reconstruction, created after the war to manage the millions of dollars of the Marshall Plan, a bit like our Cassa Depositi e Prestiti: for the future coalition government, it must finance investments for which there is no money in the federal budget.

Before the coalition negotiations began on Thursday, the SPD, FDP and the Greens charted their financial room for maneuver. According to the Handelsblatt, the result was disheartening: to the Federal Ministry of Finance, they made it clear that there are no treasures available. Where to find the money needed for the transition? Ka fe We is the solution, it could distribute more grants and loans to companies and citizens who invest in climate protection and create a sort of "transformation fund" to attract private investors.

Electricity: the report that relaunches nuclear power

RTE, the equivalent of our Terna, has just published a report of over 500 pages, entitled "Energy Futures 2050" around six scenarios: the launch of new EPR reactors represents the most economic to achieve neutrality of harmful emissions but that it will also be necessary to develop renewables.

What awaits us is a gigantic effort.

Financial in the first place.

According to RTE, there would be between 750 and 1,000 billion euros of investments in 40 years necessary for the energy transition.

Polls, the overdose

The 2002 campaign recorded 193 polls. There were 409 in 2012, 563 in 2017. In view of the elections of 2022, the Electoral Commission has already counted 44 since 1 January 2021. Who's in charge? Media or political groups. "We have never questioned the French about their voting intentions more than now", in a period characterized by strong instability and recomposition of the political landscape. The electorate is more volatile and indecisive than ever. A paradox that made the pollster and political scientist Jérôme Sainte-Marie (PollingVox) say: "Polls never have as much political influence as when they have the slightest adherence to reality" due to the difficulties they encounter If there is an overdose of polls , there is indigestion of comments on TV. TV becomes the "a kind of stock exchange for the listing of political stocks ", explains political scientist Daniel Gaxie. One example of all: Eric Zemmour's media coverage. The first poll that saw him at 10%, on September 14, became the political fact of day on BFM, CNews and other channels. Polls and TV structure a narrative: Emmanuel Macron in the role of the yellow jersey that no one can take, then the fight in the group of pursuers

Spy agencies recruit Amazon to host top secret intelligence files.

MI5, MI6, Ministry of Defense have entered into a contract with AWS, the cloud computing arm of Amazon, to host classified material in an agreement aimed at promoting the use of data analytics and artificial intelligence for espionage.

The contract is likely to ignite sovereignty concerns as a large amount of the UK's most secret data will be hosted by a single US tech company. The deal, estimated by industry experts to be worth £ 500m to £ 1bn over the next decade, was signed this year, according to four people familiar with the discussions. All agency data will be held in Britain, Amazon will have no access to information held on the cloud platform, the sources said.

Peru: Coca cultivation increases by 13%. Historic record with 61,777 hectares in 2020

The Peruvian government reported that the cultivation of coca leaves grew by 13%, 61,777 hectares in 2020, mainly in areas where drug traffickers work with rebel groups. Due to the pandemic, controls have been reduced, while coca growers refuse the eradication of plantations.

Peru's anti-drug bureau, Devida, said the cultivated area represents 26% of the total coca crops in the South American Andes region, an area that also includes Colombia and Bolivia, 143,000 hectares and 29,400 hectares respectively.

Devida's figure differs from the US Drug Bureau report. The US body had published figures in June according to which Peru had set a record in coca cultivation in 2020, with 88,200 hectares. A report that was rejected by the Andean country arguing that Washington would not have considered the volume eradicated that year and the traditional consumption of the plant.

According to the government, Peru has for years implemented a program to eradicate illegal plantations, up to 90% of the plant, which is used to produce cocaine, while the remaining parts are for traditional consumption as an energizer or coca tea.

Coca growers claim they have no other crops to make an income from;

Devida said around 12,000 tons of leaves are intended for use in the traditional and industrial market.

This implies a serious threat to the security of indigenous peoples, forced to be displaced from their territories by criminal organizations linked to illicit drug trafficking.
