There is a green wave over Sweden, in the wake of the pandemic.

People move from big cities to the countryside.

But it is not enough with any rural area, according to Annika Wallenskog who is Sweden's Municipalities and Regions' chief economist.

- These are places that attract tourists, where you may have had a holiday home before, which people are now moving to permanently, says Annika Wallenskog.

Families with children choose a new everyday life

The pandemic's teleworking has opened up new ways of living, she says.

- When you do not have to get to work every day, but maybe only once a week, many can imagine living further away from the big cities, says Annika Wallenskog.

It is, for example, families with children who choose to move, she sees.

- Outside the big cities you can live bigger and have a garden, for less money than in the city.
