  This seminar is a special training project set up by the Chinese higher education institution of Chinese medicine for high-end medical professionals from countries along the "Belt and Road". This year is the fourth and it was held online for the first time.

Nearly a hundred participants from 15 countries and regions attended the opening ceremony.

  Xu Jianguang, president of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, pointed out that the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases is particularly critical under the background that the global new crown pneumonia epidemic situation is still severe.

Traditional Chinese medicine has always played an important role in "preventing disease", and acupuncture has empirical effects in alleviating pain and dealing with stress-related problems.

At present, human beings are facing challenges such as the aging of the population and the high incidence of chronic diseases caused by lifestyle. Traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine should go hand in hand to protect the health of all mankind.

  Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine President Xu Jianguang, Vice President Chen Hongzhuan, Vice President Shu Jing, and nearly 100 participants from 15 countries and regions including the United Kingdom, the United States, the Netherlands, and France attended the opening ceremony.

It is reported that the seminar will last three weeks and will be broadcast live globally through multilingual channels in English, Japanese and French. It will be launched in a variety of online formats such as lectures by famous doctors and teachers, virtual hospital visits, exercise learning, and student exchanges.

  It is understood that the participants of the seminar come from teachers and students from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine's global partner institutions, members of the Association of Chinese Physicians, and doctors, pharmacists, and acupuncturists from medical institutions, including the Phoenix College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the United Kingdom, the Dutch Association of Chinese Physicians, and the Greek West. University of Attica, Brazil College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, French College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, New Leuven College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Belgium, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Japan, Kuretake Academy of Japan, etc.

  Chen Hongzhan focused on the characteristics and advantages of traditional Chinese medicine, the challenges faced by modern medicine, the status and role of traditional Chinese medicine in contemporary times, the inheritance and development trend of traditional Chinese medicine, and the internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine. The development of contemporary Chinese medicine and its unique role in promoting people’s health.

It is reported that the seminar will span time difference and space to give students a rich teaching experience, help the development of international Chinese medicine education, and promote the international dissemination of Chinese medicine culture.
