The Russian side will soon file a cassation appeal against the decision of the Amsterdam court on Scythian gold, said Alexander Molokhov, deputy head of the working group on international legal issues at the Crimean permanent mission under the President of the Russian Federation.

He also appreciated the work of the lawyers who defended the interests of the Russian side.

“I think we need to change this team.

I have certain complaints about their work.

Our working group submitted proposals on this matter to both the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Justice, but, unfortunately, no one listened to us, ”TASS quotes Molokhov.

The chairman of the Federation Council committee on constitutional legislation, Andrei Klishas, also said that Russia should appeal against the court's decision on Scythian gold in the Netherlands.

"The decision of the court is obviously political, but Russia must appeal against it and go through all the courts, adopting an exhaustive list of measures," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Earlier, the Amsterdam court ruled to transfer the Scythian gold to the ownership of Ukraine.

The court recognized that we are talking about objects that originate from the Crimea.

However, according to the court, after Ukraine gained independence in 1991, the objects in question became “part of the heritage” of this country.

The decision also states that the gold must be transferred to Kiev before the "stabilization of the situation in Crimea."

Moreover, this measure is called temporary.

Also on russian.rt.com Lawyer: the collection of Scythian gold will remain in Amsterdam for at least three months

The collection of Scythian gold was taken from Crimea for an exhibition at the Allard Pearson Museum in Amsterdam in 2014.

After the peninsula became part of Russia, both Crimean museums and Kiev declared their rights to gold.

The Federation Council called the court's decision on Scythian gold a dangerous precedent, and Zelensky's subsequent statement on Crimea was "a deep delusion."

In particular, Senator from Crimea Olga Kovitidi, in an interview with RT, expressed confidence that Scythian gold belongs to the people of Crimea.

“I am firmly convinced that the Scythian gold exported from Crimea and now being transferred to Ukraine is the property of the people of Crimea and belongs to them,” the senator said.

According to her, Scythian gold is a historical cultural heritage left to the people of Crimea by their ancestors.

“And no court in the world has the right to deprive the people of their cultural historical heritage.

That is why, by making this kind of decision today, the Dutch court has created an extremely dangerous international legal precedent, ”said Kovitidi.

Political scientist Ruslan Balbek called the court's decision on Scythian gold "politicized and to some extent corrupt."

"In this situation, momentary political interests have won the European independent jurisprudence," the political scientist said in an interview with an RT correspondent.

Balbek expressed the opinion that the court had no objective prerequisites for such a decision.

“Without a doubt, this was done in order to stab Russia more painfully, because the artifacts found belong to Crimean museums, and not to the leadership of“ post-Maidan ”Ukraine.

I think that today the system that was called the European judicial justice has simply collapsed, ”the political scientist emphasized.

The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, also called the court's decision unfair and outrageous.

According to him, we are talking about a cover for a raider takeover.

“An outrageous, unfair and illegal decision, albeit expected, given the bias of European courts and their hostile attitude towards Russia and Crimea.

In fact, it is a fig leaf covering an insolent raider takeover, ”he wrote in his Telegram channel.

"Zelensky is a fantasy"

After the decision of the Amsterdam court in favor of Kiev, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky promised to return Crimea after the gold of the Scythians.

“The long-awaited victory of Ukraine in the court of Amsterdam!

Scythian gold will return to Ukraine ... We always return ours.

First, we will return the Scythian gold, and then the Crimea, ”the Ukrainian leader wrote on Twitter.

Recall that Crimea became a Russian region after the March 2014 referendum, during which the majority of residents spoke out in favor of reunification with Russia.

Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stressed that the Crimea issue is closed for Russia, and the referendum on the peninsula was held in strict accordance with international law.

The first deputy head of the international committee of the Federation Council, Vladimir Dzhabarov, called Zelensky's statement on Crimea "a deep delusion."

“Well, Zelensky is a science fiction writer.

If he believes that in this way it is possible to achieve a revision of the Crimean referendum, then he is deeply mistaken.

These are not toys, ”the senator said.

According to him, the conclusions of the Dutch court are "an absolutely politically biased decision", which Russia will dispute.

"If they return the gold, it means that they stole it, because this gold belongs to the Crimea, the people of Crimea," Jabarov stressed.
