China News Service, Beijing, October 25 (Reporter Zhang Su) Wang Guangya, the former permanent representative of China to the United Nations, said in an interview with China News Agency on the 25th that on the 50th anniversary of the restoration of the legal seat of the United Nations in the People’s Republic of China, some people questioned the United Nations General Assembly’s Resolution 2758 and instigating "Taiwan independence" is an indiscriminate method.

The 50th anniversary meeting of the People's Republic of China to restore its legal seat in the United Nations was held in Beijing on the same day.

Wang Guangya delivered a speech as the former Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations.

In his speech, he said: "The United Nations is the keynote of my diplomatic career. I have served three times in the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations. In the late 1970s, I went to New York for the first time. The vast number of developing countries are fighting side by side."

Earlier reports showed that Wang Guangya repeatedly fought back against "Taiwan independence" activities while serving as China's permanent representative to the United Nations.

The US has recently manipulated the Taiwan issue again, claiming that it "hopes to help Taiwan'meaningfully' participate in UN activities."

In response to this situation, after the meeting, Wang Guangya told our reporter that there is consensus on the Taiwan issue in the United Nations and in the world.

As a big country, the United States uses various methods to contain China. This is one of the small tricks.

Wang Guangya said bluntly that the US move was to a large extent "let everyone see it as a joke."

He said: "I think this is a kind of joke that is not worth talking about."

As for the "human rights card" played by some countries, Wang Guangya said that this is just a comparison of some countries, especially Western countries, with their own narrow understanding of the Chinese model.

"Human rights are universal values, but countries have different paths to achieve universal values." He took full-process democracy as an example to say that China's democracy not only looks at the process, but also looks at the results, and more importantly, it is to ensure that the people are the masters of the country. Instead of just making some flashy slogans during the general election.

China's democracy and human rights are tangible, which guarantees the protection of the political rights of the Chinese people such as the right to survival and development.

Wang Guangya said that the current century of change and the superimposed shocks of the century's epidemic have made the world full of instability and uncertainty.

Facing global challenges and enhancing the well-being of mankind cannot do without multilateralism, the United Nations, and the concerted efforts of all countries in the world, including China.

In an interview with reporters, Wang Guangya emphasized that when the current international situation is complex and changeable, it is especially necessary to prevent a few large countries from considering only their own self-interests.

Revisiting China’s 50 years of restoring its legal seat in the United Nations, he said that as a member of the United Nations, especially as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, China has always integrated its actions with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, supporting the UN and fulfilling its obligations in the UN Charter. Always take the lead.

He said that if the major countries in the world, especially the big countries, can do so, it will help maintain world peace and play the role of the UN platform.
