On Saturday, around 10 p.m., the gendarmes observed two drones flying over the Pavillon de la Lanterne, in Versailles (Yvelines), one of the second homes attributed to the Head of State.

Emmanuel Macron was in the scene at the time, reports 78actu.

The machines and the pilots could not be intercepted.

After a first report from the mobile gendarmes present on the site, the two drones had been followed remotely by a police patrol.

The police had then lost their trace, while the aircraft were heading towards the Rocquencourt triangle.

Thirty minutes later, the two drones had been observed again near the place, before disappearing definitively.

Places already flown in 2020

Following this scene, an investigation was opened and entrusted to the Versailles police station.

Investigators' investigations will perhaps shed light on this event, which had a precedent in May 2020. At the time, the pilot of the drone, a 22-year-old student, had then indicated having flown over the place by mistake. .

Flying over the Lantern Pavilion is prohibited and punishable by one year in prison and a fine of 75,000 euros.
