The Sudanese Central Medical Committee on Facebook has confirmed the deaths of three people during protests in Khartoum following the arrest of the country's Prime Minister Abdullah Hamduk.

The total number of victims exceeded 80 people, the report said.

Earlier, Hamduk called on citizens to take to the streets and "defend the revolution."

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the current situation in Sudan is the result of an acute systemic crisis that has been observed in the country over the past two years.
