Three young men were imprisoned pending trial for acts of theft and sexual assault which took place in Lille last Wednesday, we learned from the North police on Monday.

During the evening of Wednesday, three young women were approached by three men while they were in front of their school, the Faculty of Law of the Catholic, in the Vauban district, in Lille.

One of them had a neck chain stolen and all of them were touched sexually by the suspects.

The latter then fled.

The victims immediately contacted the 17, providing the report of the attackers.

A patrol of the anti-crime squad quickly spotted three individuals matching the description, while they were not far from the scene of the assault.

Upon seeing the police, one of the suspects threw a piece of jewelry, which turned out to be the chain stolen earlier from one of the young women.

The three young people, aged under 30, were arrested and placed in police custody.

They were presented before a magistrate who decided to place them in pre-trial detention pending trial for, in particular, sexual assault.
