Normally, the RS season starts in November and lasts until spring.

This year it started unusually early.

Since the end of August, the infection curve has risen steadily.

According to statistics from the region, about 70 children received hospital care between weeks 35 and 41.

Jörgen Enarsson, chief physician at the pediatric and adolescent clinic in Eskilstuna, says that they have not seen any decline yet.

- But in the last week it has not increased in any case, so we may be in a plateau now, he says.

Keeping siblings at home

In order to reduce the spread of infection, the health service has, among other things, issued recommendations that older siblings should be kept home from preschool if they have an infant at home.

In the clip above, you will hear Jörgen Enarsson tell how the virus is transmitted and when to seek help.
