Lee Jae-myung, former governor of Gyeonggi Province, has a tea meeting with President Moon Jae-in at the Blue House Sangchunjae at 11 am today.

It's been 16 days since the Democratic presidential nomination.

After meeting with former CEO Lee Nak-yeon, he is trying to shake off the aftermath of the election and show a one-team message through a meeting with a president with a Democratic party history.

A key Blue House official said that although the agenda had not been adjusted in advance, dialogue would be held on issues that were not related to the election and would not cause political misunderstanding.

The meeting was initially likely to be held tomorrow, but it seems that President Moon's diplomatic schedule, such as the ASEAN summit via video from this afternoon, was considered.

There were two meetings between the incumbent president and the ruling party candidate. In 2002, candidate Roh Moo-hyun met President Kim Dae-jung two days after the election, and in 2012, candidate Park Geun-hye met President Lee Myung-bak 13 days after election.

Former Governor Lee will also meet with former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun, who competed in the primary, this evening, as well as former Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae, Park Yong-jin, and Kim Du-gwan, who are also scheduled to meet soon.

Former governor Lee, who resigned as Gyeonggi governor after three years and four months, expressed his determination as a presidential candidate at a press conference yesterday, saying that he would become a worker responsible for the lives of not only Gyeonggi-do residents but also the entire nation.

Former Governor Lee registered as a presidential candidate today and is embarking on a full-fledged presidential campaign.
