International community condemns coup in Sudan

This Monday, October 25, 2021 at around noon, Sudanese General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan announced the dissolution of the transitional authorities and declared a state of emergency.

Among the many reactions, that of the Secretary General of the UN. Antonio Guterres condemns what he calls " 

an ongoing military coup

 " and calls for the "

of Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok. He adds that full respect for the constitutional charter must be ensured to protect the hard-won political transition.

On the side of the African Union, the President of the Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat expresses his "
