Experts say that aftershocks of magnitude 4 or higher may occur in the next 3 days.

  According to the Taiwan Meteorological Department, the epicenters of the two earthquakes were located in Nan'ao Township and Datong Township in Yilan, only 1 minute apart, and the focal depths were 66.8 kilometers and 67.3 kilometers respectively.
