It was shortly after midnight that a woman alerted that a man had tried to start a fire in the house she was in in Vingåker municipality.
According to the police, the woman herself must have managed to put out the fire.
The police went out to the suspected crime scene and were able to arrest a man in his 70s who is suspected of having tried to start the fire.
The man is now suspected of attempted murder and attempted arson and has been arrested by prosecutors.
