Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said - on Sunday - that his country is committed to what it pledged in the framework of the nuclear agreement, noting that European countries and the United States of America are "experiencing a decision-making crisis."

In his speech at the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference, Raisi made it clear that his country will not link its economy to negotiations or similar issues, stressing that Iran's foreign policy is based on forming good relations with all countries, especially its neighbors.

And the Iranian Fars news agency quoted Raisi as saying, "Iran's foreign policy has a wide interaction with the world, especially the neighboring countries," adding, "We do not link the country's economy to (nuclear) negotiations and the like. the decision".

Iran has repeatedly said for weeks that it will return to talks "soon", but has not yet announced a date for the resumption of talks in Vienna on reviving the agreement under which restrictions were imposed on its nuclear program in return for the relief of economic sanctions imposed by the United States.

Strict penalties

Former US President Donald Trump withdrew from the agreement in 2018, and re-imposed tough US sanctions on Tehran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian had previously confirmed that his country had told Western countries that it would not evade the dialogue table, and that negotiations related to reviving the nuclear agreement would resume soon and at the appropriate time.

These negotiations began last April in Vienna between Iran on the one hand, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany on the other, and these countries are still members of the 2015 agreement on Iran's nuclear program.
