In the DRC, President Tshisekedi approved the composition of the CENI team on Friday evening.

Despite the reservations observed on the opposition side, in the camp of those in power, this is a very good thing, but not everyone is necessarily of the same opinion.

With our correspondent in Kinshasa,

In the Sacred Union of the Nation, many are those who applaud with both hands the decision to ratify the composition of the Ceni.

Among them, Clément Kanku of the Renewal Movement: "

We welcome this decision and we have taken note of the order of the Head of State and tomorrow we hope that things will get started quickly so that the elections are prepared. within the constitutional deadlines.

 "

Augustin Kabuya, secretary general of the UDPS, the party of President Tshisekedi, denounces the "

whim

" of the two Christian denominations: "

If the Head of State made this decision, it is in relation to reality. Our country is a secular country. In front of us there were eight religious denominations. Six had voted on one candidate, and the other two had chosen another path, the scorched earth path. These two are doing their whim because Denis Kadima is a muluba from Kasai. What world are we in today

? If people are to function on the basis of their tribal affiliation, it is shameful

! All of our people are determined to go to the elections in 2023.

DRC: who is Denis Kadima, the new president of the Céni?

At the Unified Lumumbist Party, we think otherwise.

Professor Onésime Kukatula Falash, electoral strategist of the party, does not share the optimism of the presidential camp: "

If from the start of the electoral process, there are challenges, refusals and mistrust, we risk starting the process with the violence and protest, which is not a good thing.

At the start, everyone must feel confident to go to the elections.

 "

For Lamuka, it is a "passage in force"

For Lambert Mende's CCU, what matters is the legal framework: “

to my knowledge, there is no legal provision that can prevent the President of the Republic from proceeding with the partial investiture of members of the independent national electoral commission.

 "

On the other hand, the Lamuka opposition platform, led by Martin Fayulu and Adolphe Muzito, is against the endorsement by President Félix Tshisekedi of Denis Kadima at the head of the Ceni.

It is nothing less than a "

declaration of war on the Congolese people

", reacted one of Lamuka's spokespersons, Prince Epenge, who announces demonstrations until they obtain his departure from the head of the electoral commission.

The act taken by Mr. Félix Tshilombo [Tshisekedi, editor's note] who has just signed his order of endorsement of Mr. Kadima is a declaration of war against our people, an act of provocation for the Lamuka coalition.

The rules of the electoral game must be defined and accepted by all, hence the need for consensus.

But there, Félix Tshilombo has just passed in force.

We are going to take to the streets to drive Kadima out of the Ceni and to demand a consensus as quickly as possible between the stakeholders.

 "

But already concerns of overflow are perceptible on the side of a large part of civil society.
