The Georgia Police Department said on October 23 local time that a shooting occurred at an off-campus gathering near Ford Valley State University in the United States, resulting in one death and seven injuries.
The police department said that the deceased was not a student of Ford Valley State University.
The school stated that a student was injured in the shooting, but his life was not in danger.
After the shooting, the campus was in a state of lockdown, and the lockdown was not lifted until the campus police confirmed that the campus community was not under threat.
The back-to-school parade originally scheduled to be held that morning has been cancelled.
Up to now, the police are still investigating the cause of the shooting.
